With the playoffs in striking distance, the official lolesports Twitter has revealed the NA LCS Summer All-Pro Team. Chosen from presumably the top performers in each role, this Summer Split’s team consists of Ssumday, Xmithie, Jensen, Doublelift, and Olleh.

Just four teams are represented in this all-star team – Cloud9, Team SoloMid, Team Dignitas, and Immortals. Immortals has garnered the best representation, with both their jungler and support having performed exceptionally well throughout the split. Xmithie’s presence on the All-LCS team further solidifies, as if there were still any doubt, that Immortals definitely got the better deal in their trade with CLG.
And while Xmithie’s supportive jungling and attitude have no doubt helped his teammates on Immortals, everybody’s talking about their support, Olleh. What was a rather quiet bot lane duo in spring has completely transformed for summer, and now Olleh comes up in many conversations about Summer Split MVP. But will the two Immortals actually end up splitting votes for MVP, ruining each other’s chances?

Team Dignitas has had an interesting split, shifting gears in the middle with their new power-charged bot lane duo of Altec and Adrian. And while those two have been on fire since they joined the organization, top laner Ssumday has been the one pillar of consistent strong play for Team Dignitas. Though honestly, it doesn’t even seem like top lane was close for the All-LCS team, with Flame and Hauntzer backpedaling from their standout performances in spring, and Impact seemingly shifting some of his talent to Ray to create two good top laners on C9 and zero outstanding top laners. Darshan on CLG is perhaps the next closest top laner (and CLG is mysteriously absent from the All-LCS team), but Ssumday’s lane dominance and overall pressure in games has far outweighed any of his peers.
Doublelift makes his return to the NA LCS this summer and takes the title of All-LCS ADC. But similarly to Ssumday, it doesn’t seem like he had very much competition. Summer Split 2017 has been marked by previously disappointing ADCs stepping up their game, like Cody Sun, Stixxay, and Apollo. Sneaky has been hit and miss all split. In fact, Double’s main competition this split may have come from Team Dignitas’ Altec, who only joined the team in the middle of June. And even with the tremendous performance out of Dig, they landed in 5th and the end of the regular season, and TSM in first.
Although, the primary reason TSM was able to secure first place this split was probably not Doublelift but Bjergsen. The age old question of Bjergsen or Jensen, which Danish midlaner truly dominates the NA LCS scene, rages on in Summer 2017. Jensen’s statistics are completely outrageous, with 256 kills, a KDA of 8.7, and averaging triple-digit gold and experience leads at 10 minutes. And as TheeMarkZ points out, his contributions this split have gone way beyond just playing for stats. So it’s no surprise that he’s the All-LCS team midlaner.
But what does this mean for MVP? Will that go to Jensen too, despite his team ending the regular season in 4th? Could Bjergsen possibly win it without being considered the best midlaner in the league this split? Will the NA LCS MVP award ever go to a North American?
